Privacy Notice
How The Forge Careers handles enquiry and recruitment information.
Last updated: 18 October 2026
Who is responsible
The Forge Careers, a founder-led firm based in Nigeria, is responsible for information submitted through this website. For privacy questions, access, correction or deletion requests, email [email protected]. No separate data protection officer has been designated at this stage.
Information collected by each form
Employer enquiries: name, work email, organization, optional phone, the type of need, target seniority, role location, timeline and a description of the requirement. Career strategy enquiries: name, email, current function, seniority, location, target function, optional preferred markets, optional LinkedIn URL, your message and an optional CV. Candidate profiles: the same professional details, with a required CV, and the title of the role if you apply from a job page. Employer enquiries may also include an optional role title. Newsletter signup: your email address, the topics you chose and the consent statement you agreed to, with the date. Optional fields are marked. Please do not provide identity documents, financial details, health information or other sensitive data.
The free resume review tool
The Resume & Job Description Match Review runs entirely in your browser. Your resume and the job description are read and analyzed on your device and are not transmitted to The Forge Careers, stored by this website or sent to any AI provider. The tool sets no cookies and does not use browser storage. Closing or refreshing the page clears the documents and the report. If you email support about the tool, we receive only what you choose to send.
Why information is used, and on what basis
Submissions are used to review and respond to enquiries, consider profiles against relevant search requirements and discuss potential engagements. They are processed on the basis of the consent you give when submitting and, where you ask about an engagement, to take steps at your request before an agreement. Consent to enquiry handling is not consent to marketing. Submissions are not added to a marketing list. Newsletter emails are sent only to people who tick the separate newsletter consent box, and you can withdraw that consent at any time.
Where information is stored, and who processes it
This website is hosted by Netlify, Inc., which also stores form submissions and uploaded files through Netlify Forms, and newsletter subscriptions and published job listings in Netlify Database. Netlify is based in the United States, so your information may be processed and stored outside Nigeria. Access is limited to authorized people through the project’s administration tools. Typography is loaded from Google Fonts. Email you send to the firm is handled by its email provider. The website does not publish a candidate directory or public CV download.
Sharing and confidentiality
Information is accessible only to people involved in reviewing your enquiry or profile. Any proposed sharing of a candidate profile with an employer is discussed with the candidate first. Information is not sold. Do not include confidential third-party information you are not authorized to disclose.
How long information is kept
Employer enquiries and career strategy enquiries are kept for 12 months from the date of submission. Candidate profiles, including any uploaded CV, are kept for 24 months from submission so they can be considered for searches that arise later. A scheduled process runs daily and permanently deletes submissions, with their uploaded files, once they pass these periods. Information copied into an agreed engagement is kept for as long as that engagement and any related legal obligation require. You can ask for earlier deletion at any time. Requests are reviewed by a person, taking into account any information that must be kept for an agreed engagement or a legal obligation. Resume review documents are never stored, so there is nothing to delete. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe: email [email protected] and your address is removed from the list.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law, including the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, you can ask to access, correct or delete your information, object to or restrict its use, receive a copy, and withdraw consent. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that has already taken place. Email [email protected] with enough detail to identify your submission. If you are not satisfied with the response, you may complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission or the relevant authority where you live.
Security
The website is served over an encrypted connection. Uploads are limited to PDF and DOCX files up to 4 MB and checked for a valid file signature before storage. File-type checking is not malware scanning, so please upload only documents you created or trust.
Updates
This notice was updated on 18 October 2026 to describe the newsletter, job applications made from job pages and the storage of subscriptions in Netlify Database. The previous update, on 17 October 2026, described the free resume review tool, the contact addresses and the retention periods for form submissions.
